Robert Morris Copeland is said to be largely responsible for the landscape design and overall planning for much of the historic center of Oak Bluffs, especially the area that spans Waban Park and Ocean Park, both magnificent open spaces facing Nantucket Sound and rimmed by dwellings of the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Included below are homes located between the two largest open spaces or parks mentioned above. This area is the heart of Copeland District; an echo of another architectural time, one steeped in Victorian tradition.
